Benedikt Sveinsson and Mark Holyoake have not sought re- election for the coming year and will step down from the board.

Benedikt has worked at the Company for over 40 years, in various senior leadership roles in Iceland, the UK and the USA. In 2006 he became Group CEO of the Company and served in that position until 2010 when he took over as the Chairman of the Group. His outstanding contribution and leadership as Chairman has been invaluable and a key factor in the Company’s huge success. His vision, loyalty and integrity has been and will remain at the heart of the Company’s ethos. He is greatly admired and appreciated by everyone at ISI.

In 2010 Mark Holyoake via his investment vehicle International Seafood Holdings (ISH) agreed the purchase of the share capital of ISI. This significant investment in difficult times for the Icelandic economy provided the Group with a strong foundation from which to grow.  His continued support and belief in the business over the last 9 years has been a driving force for everyone at ISI supporting them to achieve the success they strived for across many territories and for which the Group is most grateful.

Benedikt Sveinsson
“Iceland Seafood International has been an important part of my working life for over 40 years and it is obviously with mixed emotions that I have now decided that the time is right for me to step down as Chairman of the Group.
I want to personally thank all the wonderful people within our Group, which spans Europe and beyond, and whom together create such a first class Company.  I would also like to put on record my sincere thanks and appreciation to Mark Holyoake for his support of the business since he became the owner in 2010. His financial support, experience and interest in the Group has been very valuable over the years.

It has been a real honor to have been Chairman of the Group for so long and I wish everyone huge success in the years to come as the Group enters into this new and exciting phase of its growth.”

Mark Holyoake
“Iceland Seafood is truly a fine Company and in an era of consolidation across the sector, it is perfectly placed with its significant quota access to continue its excellent growth record for many years to come. I have been on the main board since purchasing the Group in 2010 and I have not only enjoyed every moment helping the teams so successfully expand and grow to now reside as one of Europe’s leading seafood companies but to do so with such fantastic people has been a genuine privilege.
The Group could not be in better hands led by the exceptionally talented and hugely respected Bjarni Armannsson as CEO and a first class new board comprising of industry and business leaders energised to drive the business forward to new levels. I wish them all every success in the future and I will remain a long term and loyal supporter of the Group going forward.
Finally I would like to personally thank Benedikt Sveinsson who departs with me after so many years of working closely together. He has been at the heart of this Group for decades leading always by example as our Chairman. I thank him sincerely not only for his wisdom but also his friendship.”

Bjarni Ármannsson
“With the transformational Solo Seafood acquisition completed in September 2018 we have seen further changes in the shareholder base of ISI where the Group has developed its supply chain for the benefit of the Company and its customers working closely with the largest quota owners of Iceland.  The Group has already announced its intention of a main market listing during 2019 and today has significant opportunities and strong demand in our key markets. We therefore look forward to continued strong growth and to building further upon the real successes that have been achieved at ISI over the last years.  I would like to personally thank both Mark Holyoake and Benedikt Sveinsson for their excellent leadership and dedication to the business over many years.”
